SMS Terms of Service

Effective August 4, 2026

1. Program description

These messages are sent by Grand Terrace Lions Club Charities, a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization which operates the Grand Terrace Lions Club. Both names refer to the same organization.

It runs two separate text message programs, and being on one never puts you on the other.

Member notifications. Sent to club members who have given us their mobile number and agreed to receive them: meeting reminders, service project and event details, sign-in codes for the member portal, and time-sensitive announcements.

Community event alerts. Open to anyone in the Grand Terrace area who signs up at portal.gtlions.org/alerts. At most four messages a year, each one about events happening in Grand Terrace — the club’s own and other organisations’.

Neither program sends advertising, and we never text on behalf of anyone else.

The program is described in full at portal.gtlions.org/text-messages.

2. Who can receive messages

Member notifications go only to members of the Grand Terrace Lions Club. There is no public sign-up for them: numbers come from the club’s own membership roster.

Community event alertsgo only to people who have entered their own name and mobile number on our sign-up page and ticked the box agreeing to be texted. We never add a number any other way — not from a phone book, not from a business card, not from another organisation’s list.

3. Message frequency

Member notifications: frequency varies with club activity. In a typical month a member receives roughly 2 to 6 messages. Members who use the portal also receive a sign-in code each time they sign in.

Community event alerts: at most four messages a year. That is a commitment, not an estimate.

4. Pricing and charges

There is no charge from the club. Message and data rates may apply for messages sent to you from us and to us from you. If you have questions about your text or data plan, contact your wireless provider.

5. How to opt out

You can stop the messages at any time. Reply STOP to any message from the club (+19514625121) and we will send one message confirming you have been unsubscribed, after which you will receive no further texts.

Community alert subscribers can stop the same way — reply STOP — or write to us at the address below. You do not need an account and there is nothing to log in to.

Members can also turn texts off at any time in the member portal at portal.gtlions.org/profile, or by asking any club officer. Opting out of texts does not affect your membership.

6. How to get help

Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or write to us at info@gtlions.org.

7. Carrier liability

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed, and the club does not rely on text alone for anything critical.

8. Privacy

Your mobile number and your consent to be texted are never sold, rented or shared for anyone else’s marketing. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.
