Grand Terrace Cars and Coffee: A Community Tradition of Support and Holiday Cheer

Every month the Grand Terrace Cars and Coffee event brings more than just classic cars and coffee lovers together. It creates a powerful wave of community spirit and generosity that touches many lives especially during the holiday season, with our Toy Drive Cruise. This tradition, supported by dedicated local groups and leaders, shows how a shared passion can fuel kindness and bring joy to families across the area.

A Community Effort Rooted in Tradition

The heart of this event goes beyond the cars and coffee. The GT Lions Club plays a crucial role by hosting the Grand Terrace Cars and Coffee and leading the annual toy collection drive. Their ongoing commitment ensures that the spirit of giving remains strong in the community.

Our local Boy Scout Troop 40 and Cub Scout Pack, guided by Scout Master David Crandell and supported by involved parents, actively participate in collecting and distributing toys. Their enthusiasm and dedication highlight the importance of teaching young people about service and community involvement.

Support from Local Leaders and First Responders

This event thrives because of the support from city officials and first responders. Mayor Bill Hussey has been instrumental in making sure the toy collection continues year after year. Alongside him, Mayor Protem Michelle Sabino and Council member Matt Brown provide ongoing encouragement and resources.

A special thanks to our local Sheriff's Department, who offer valuable assistance by providing escorts and ensuring safety during the event. Their presence helps maintain order and adds a layer of security that allows the cruise to run smoothly.

Special Contributions That Make a Difference

Several individuals and groups add unique touches that enhance the event's impact. Sam and Stephanie Cereceres generously provide the Pasadena Fire Engine, which transports the Mayor and council members. This adds a festive and official feel to the procession, followed by members of Grand Terrace Cars and Coffee.

Shad Boal plays a special role by transporting Santa Claus, bringing holiday cheer to children and families. Meanwhile, Lion Ed Giroux and Lion Tim Lundstrum handle the collection vehicle, ensuring that all donated toys are safely gathered and transported.

Michael Miller and Woody's Classic Grill deserve huge thanks for sponsoring the event and offering space to sort and distribute the toys. Their support creates a welcoming hub where volunteers can organize donations efficiently and prepare them for delivery.

We are also so grateful to the businesses that help by being a designated drop off spot on the days leading up to the cruise.

Bringing the Community Together

The Grand Terrace Cars and Coffee event is more than a gathering of car enthusiasts. It's a celebration of community, generosity, and holiday spirit. Each year, the combined efforts of volunteers, local leaders, and supporters create a meaningful experience that spreads joy to children and families in need.

If you want to be part of this tradition, consider joining the next event or supporting the toy drive. Your involvement helps keep this community spirit alive and makes a real difference during the holidays.
