What is recorded

The wording beside the box, stored word for word against the member’s own record — not a paraphrase, and not read back from the form, so what the club holds is what the club actually promised.
The date and time they agreed.
That they did it themselves in the portal, rather than an officer doing it for them.
Turning texts off later does not erase any of that. It is what answers a question about a message sent months ago.

Where numbers come from

The club’s own membership roster and nowhere else. No number is bought, rented, imported or shared, nobody is added by anyone but themselves, and a member who never turns it on is never texted.
